Lake
Crescent is an undiscovered natural resource. At 16,000
acres it is
one
of the largest
freshwater lakes in the State of Florida. The lake is
approximately 13 miles in length and 2 miles wide. It
connects to the St. John's River on the North via Dunn's
Creek. Largely undeveloped, the entire eastern shore of
Lake Crescent is in it's "natural state".
Bordering vegetation is comprised of Cypress swamp and palms.
Wild life includes a large number of reptile and bird
species. Commonly viewed birds include: Osprey, American
Eagles, Egrets, Herons, and occasional Wood Storks.

Fishing Information
Lake Como, Lake Broward, Lake George, Lake Crescent, and the St.
Johns River make up an area that is known as the "Bass
Capital of the World." The fisherman has his choice of
miles and miles of shoreline, acres of grass beds,
schooling bars, and coves. Wynn Davis, who was for years
the fishing editor of “Outdoor Life” magazine,
repeatedly called the area “the best bass water in the
United States.”
